Mullion wins UK MCA contract

We are pleased to announce that via the Firebuy Framework Agreement (see previous article) we have secured the contract to supply the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency with all their inflatable lifejackets for the next 3 years. We are consequently very proud to be supplying this world-class professional organization with their life-saving equipment to help protect them in their critical safety work which encompasses preventing loss of life, improving maritime safety and protecting the marine environment.
The Agency has to cover and offer protection around 11,072 miles of British Coastline and as an island nation where 97% of our trade by weight is still conducted by sea this is no small task as there is no doubt that shipping is vital to the Uk economy.
The MCA is responsible throughout the Uk for implementing the Government’s maritime safety policy. This includes co-ordinating search and rescue at sea through Her Majesty’s Coastguard and checking that ships meet Uk and international safety rules. They work to prevent loss of lives at the coast and at sea, to ensure that ships are safe and to prevent coastal pollution.
We strongly support their motto of “Safer Lives, Safer Ships, Safer Seas”.
